Home Sweet Home on a Budget: Entryway Inspiration

Are you looking for the For Sale by Owner Shop Linkup?  Click here.

Hi, Remodelaholics!  It’s Ruth from A House in Holland, back to join Cassity again this Saturday.  Today, I get to announce an exciting new event here at Remodelaholic, Home Sweet Home on a Budget.

Here’s how it works:  Cassity will be choosing a room to work on each month (April’s room: The Entry), and then I’ll stop by every Saturday to feature budget-friendly decor and DIY tips from around the web just for that room.  Keep your eyes open–you just might spot one of your projects!

Because we hope to inspire you to create your own “home sweet home”, we’re going to host a linky party at the end of every month, where you can show off the projects you’ve completed.  This will be a themed linkup–we’d like you to share budget friendly crafts and projects that go with the room of the month.  Here’s the info on April’s linkup:

So, let’s kick off the first week of April with some inspiration.  Sometimes the best way to get your imagination going when you are figuring out what to do with a space is to create an idea file.  Even if the ideas you find are a little bigger than the scale of your project, just grouping together things you love can help you discover the direction you want to take it.  Here are a few things from my own Entryway inspiration file.

Pretty Porches

Nothing says “welcome home” like a pretty porch.  While the following porches may be a bit beyond what I’m able to do with my own porch, they help me to see that I value comfort, color, and lots of greenery on a porch.

Better Homes & Gardens

DIY Network

Whimsical Raindrop Cottage

Colorful Doorways

All of the doors in my idea file pop with color.  I think it may be time to break out the paint!

House of Turquoise

Southern Living

The Creative Mama

Organized Entryways

One thing we didn’t have in the home we just sold was an entryway closet–or any type of organization station.  Can you tell what will be a big priority for our next house?

House Beautiful

The House of Smiths

Emerald Interior Design

My Home Ideas

Thanks for letting me share what’s in my idea file, today. I can’t wait to show you some budget-minded porch makeovers next week!

I used that last picture of the foyer with bookcases and pillars as inspiration for my own entryway!
