Home Sweet Home on a Budget: Dining Room Inspiration

Home Sweet Home on a Budget: Dining Room Inspiration

Hello, Remodelaholics!  It’s Ruth from A House in Holland, here to announce the room of the month:  the Dining Room.

{Centsational Girl}

 All through the month of June, I’ll be dropping by to share budget-minded ideas for making your dining room a more functional space.  In upcoming weeks, I’ll be finding great ideas from all over the blogland to help you update your furniture, get a formal dining room to multi-task, and more–without emptying your pockets.   On the last Saturday of the month (June 30th), you’ll have a chance to share what you’ve done to spruce up your own living room by joining the Home Sweet Home on a Budget Linky Party.

There were some really terrific Living Room projects linked up to May’s party.  If you are looking for some budget-friendly ideas for fixing up your living room, check out all of the links from last week.  They were fantastic!  I had a hard time picking my favorites, but here are three that I enjoyed reading about:

Loved the bright punches of color in this living room reveal at A Swell Place to Dwell.

At Classy Clutter, this living room underwent a huge transformation without a huge budget.

The space may be small, but the fun colors make this room live large at Use the Good Dishes.

It’s a new month, and that means it’s time to focus on another room at the Home Sweet Home on a Budget, the Dining Room.  Sometimes the best way to get your imagination going when you are figuring out what to do with a space is to create an idea file.  Even if the ideas you find are a little bigger than the scale of your project, just grouping together things you love can help you discover the direction you want to take it.  Magazines and design sites are excellent resources for pulling together inspiration for every room in your house.  Take a look at some of my favorite dining rooms from around the web.

 Can you tell I’m slightly obsessed with the colors blue and orange, right now?  The good news is that citrus hues like orange are associate with enjoying healthy foods and actually act as an appetite stimulant–perfect for the dining room!  Come back next week to see some great ideas from around blogland for the dining room.
