Home Sweet Home on a Budget: Master Baths by Bloggers
This month at Remodelaholic, we’re putting as many budget friendly ideas for master suites out there as we can. Today’s focus is on the master bathroom. When I went looking in blogland for nice bathrooms to feature, I was surprised to discover that examples of great bathrooms were a lot harder to find than pictures of master bedrooms…or kitchens, dining rooms, and gallery walls! Hunting down today’s featured bathrooms made me realize something: we’re more likely to spend time, money, and effort fixing up rooms in our house that get a lot of foot traffic and that guests are likely to see. I think it takes some courage to switch gears and use your resources to spiff up a room that will only be enjoyed by you (and your spouse).
So, with that in mind, I looked extra hard to find master bathrooms to share with you that have been through pretty extreme makeovers. You are definitely going to want to click through to the featured blogs to see the before pictures, because the following bathrooms are the result of a ton of DIY effort by some hard working bloggers. These rooms are great examples of how doing something special for yourself doesn’t have to cost a bundle. Why not follow the lead of these bloggers, and take the time to create an amazing oasis for yourself?
I’d love it if you’d use the button above to pin and share this post with your friends on Pinterest. If you’d like to pin any of the featured rooms, please use the link provided to click over and pin from the original source. (It’s the right thing to do.)
A basic-blah-builder’s bath got a fresh, mod makeover by Jennasue.
What this bathroom at 320 Sycamore lacks in size, it more than makes up for in style and savvy storage.
At Life on Mars, a fresh coat of paint on the walls and cabinetry really lightened up this bathroom.
Another builder grade bath got a big-time upgrade at Batchelors Way.
More proof from No. 2 Pencil that a small bathroom doesn’t have to be a boring bathroom.
Amazing retreat for the grownups at Whatever.
Suburbs Mama freshened up the master bath and added a turquoise chevron shower curtain….that I want to steal!
The tile work in the bathroom at Never Without is absolutely stunning.
The Idea Room came up with clever storage options, like this shelf, for corralling hair appliances.
This bathroom when through and unbelievable transformation at Sweet Chaos. That shower is really cool!
Hard to believe this serene oasis was once painted in shades of electric purple. See the transformation at SAS Interiors.
At A Wannabe Decorator’s Life, new paint strikes again. It’s amazing what a fresh coat or two of paint can do for a space.
Next Friday, I hope you’ll come right back here again for more master suite inspiration AND add one of your own projects to our monthly linkup. We’re always exited to click on your links and see all the creativity and hard work you put into a project….all while working under a tight budget! Remember, this linkup will be specifically for master bathroom projects.
All of these bathrooms are amazing! My husband thinks I’m crazy now because I want to to re-do ours!!! 🙂 Thanks for the great round-up!
You are always welcome!
I love the Idea Room’s hiding hair appliances. What a great idea!!
Those are really lovely bathrooms. I am quite envious. My poor, little master bath leaves a lot to be desired, but alas, at least I have a master bath. My husband and I have done minimal work, but the small, inexpensive changes we made allow us to at least utilize the master bath. I shared it on my blog. We have hopes of one day demolishing the master bath and expanding into an adjacent closet. The images above are a great source for real-life inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing.
LOVE the chevron! all of these are so pretty! jealous…

Hello Cassity. So nice to have found your blog. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading thru it and you have given me some wonderful and creative ideas and sparked my enthusiasm. We are about to do a major remodel of a basement overhauling a laundry room, adding a half bath etc. And your site has given me lots of ideas. Love the SasInteriors bathroom. I always appreciate balance, contrast and a subtle mix of color.
MIchelle! Good luck on you remodel, it is tiring but FUN! Just be sure to give yourself little breaks now and then!
