Speed square or some other form of a template (if making a template you will want your corner to be a perfect square or 90 degree angle)
Please note that there are many different ways to apply a chevron design to fabric. This is a way that works best for me for this particular project. You may find a faster way to apply the design.

what panels did you use, or atleast what kind of fabric are they made from? LOVE the results!!! I have a little boy who will be 2 in December and these curtains will look AWESOME in his “big boy” room!
oh my gosh this looks awesome, I want them! Do you sell them? If not, you should and I would be your first order of these amazing curtains. I would love to make them myself, but I do not dare to mess up such a big diy project, don’t think I have that much patience. Anyway, this is amazing. Congrats!
These curtains are so much fun! I wanted to buy curtains like this but they are so expensive everwhere I look. I want to try these but my only concern is about washing them. Have you ever washed them before and did it mess the paint up?
I love your project!! I just featured it on my blog! I’m a new follower!

Wow these are amazing! Great job. I don’t know if I could do this but might try!
I see another comment someone asked where you bought the original panels? I love how they are almost shimmery. Where did you purchase these and at what cost?
If only it was a video, if the same two pieces are used through out why do I see so many rows of tape and one long horizontal? I would love to this but it is confusing to me. In any case i love the the four colors you selected to make it flow deeper to the floor. Stunning!
i would also like to know what curtain panels you used (i think the material would make a difference)
is your paint matte or glossy?
also how long would you estimate this project took to complete, once you had all the supplies? two hours? six hours?
This is brilliant!
This is great! How does the paint feel on the fabric? Is it hard or crunchy?
I LOVE this!! I just re-created this as a shower curtain in PINK w/ bling!:)

thanks for the idea & step-by-step How-to!
So Cute Abby! You did a great job!
Hey….just trying to answer some of your questions! The best paint would be to use fabric paint from your craft store, the next would be acrylic paint with added fabric medium. again available from a craft store. If the stripes are heat-set with an iron (after they dry) they will wash up beautifully. I think you would have good results with latex home paint also….may be a little stiff…but I would heat set these with an iron also. I have painted on fabric before and everything has always washed up beautifully. Good luck!!
Awesome tutorial!
I just bought these:
