This creamy french onion pasta bake is the perfect weeknight dinner! It’s a super comforting dish that’s just as creamy and savory as a french onion soup but with the addition of pasta and all the cheese we crave during the colder months.
Ingredients
3Cupspastauncooked
2Tbspolive oil
3Onionssliced
1Tbspsugar
1Garlic cloveminced
1Cupmushrooms
3Tbspflour
3Cupsstock
1Cuphalf and half
½Cupmozzarella cheese
½Cupparmesan cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a saucepan over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add onions and cook until translucent, around 7 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar and cook for 10 more minutes until caramelized. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add mushrooms.
Sprinkle with flour and pour stock. Mix until incorporated. Add pasta and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes.
Remove from fire. Mix in half and half. Add half the mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese and stir until incorporated.
Transfer to a baking dish and top with the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
