It’s been fun to take a look at trends of the moment, lately. As I was taking a look at some of 2013’s hottest trends for kitchens, I discovered one that surprised me: kitchen seating.
Who knew that where we sit in the kitchen was going to get so much fun? From bar stools to banquettes, the places where we park our derrieres are getting to be a big focus when it comes to kitchen design. Take bar stools, for example. We’re using them as a low-commitment way to bring color to our kitchens. And the great thing about bar stools? You always have more than one, so if you want to try out more than one bright pop of color, you can! On the other hand, we are looking to optimize our seating capacity when it comes to kitchen tables, leaning towards efficient banquette seating for informal dining. This is a really terrific option when it comes to decorating kitchens–giving you a chance to pick out upholstery that will look great in your space, and saving money on extra chairs (trust me, they can be pricey!).
