Emperor Silk Red Painted Table
Submitted By: Vintage Restyled
Hi All,
I normally do not post on weekends, but since I have been without my computer all week (and still do not have it), I thought I would break the rules and share some projects!
Our aunt gave us this table, hoping that we could bring it to life.

Hubby began removing the chipped top.
You can spy the clamps that are reattaching some loose legs.

This can be the labor intensive part. Better him than me.
Now this baby has tons of details. I decided to go for it and ordered ASCP Emperor Silk.

It is a stark contrast to my usual grey, white and light blue. But again, the piece begged for a bolder statement.

Yikes! That is red. The top is wet, just to give you the full impact of this color.

Just look at the first coat and all that detail. Swoon.
Did I share how much I detest spindles? This baby has 8 legs! All of which were painted, waxed and then highlighted with dark wax.
So worth the effort!

The dark wax really tones down the red.

I am so happy I listened to Suzanne when she kept pushing me toward red. This is such a statement piece.
I read somewhere that every home should have a red piece of furniture. This would be a perfect addition to any home.
One last peek.

Awesome! Maybe it’s too much Christmas vacation but I gotta say, “it’s a beaut Clark!” well done.
Gorgeous! I’m in LOVE with those detailed legs, and the bold colour was the perfect choice 🙂
OMGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.. That looks friggin’ AWESOME! I gotta’ get that color! I have been chickening out because it’s just so…RED! But, you rocked it out! Good Job.

Those legs sure look like a lot of work, and 8 of them! Great job, the table looks gorgeous.
Love it! So happy to see your project because I want to paint my antique china cabinet the same color. You did a fabulous job!!! Thanks for sharing 🙂
