If you’re trying to speed up the cleaning process, set the timer for 15 minutes and focus on one task such as dusting or one area of the house like the family room. You’ll be surprised how much you can accomplish in a short amount of time. Once those 15 minutes are up, move on to the next room or task. This tip can also be a great way to motivate your kids to help out. Having an end point in sight helps reducing whining; plus, they can race each other to see who can complete the most chores the fastest.

Cleaning a room from top to bottom isn’t a cliche saying without merit. Arianne Cohen from Woman’s Day says cleaning experts recommend starting at the tallest point of the room and completing your tasks from left to right. This approach will prevent you from missing spots in the room and dirtying areas you’ve already cleaned.
