Those navy blue built-ins are a showstopper in this space. We would recommend a color like Benjamin Moore Hale Navy, for a navy blue that doesn’t have any odd undertones. The rich, deep color becomes like a neutral in the space when used on a stationary focal point such as this. Filled with baskets, it’s a stylish way to add storage and function to a kids’ space! The addition of the built-in desk makes this the perfect homework hideaway!

Bold textiles in bright colors help to add a playful air to this kid’s lounge area. Mix a variety of pattern scales to achieve a cohesive look.

In this particular space, the theme was ‘Oh The Places You’ll Go’ from Dr. Suess. If you children have a favorite book or theme, incorporate it into their space.  You’ll see these items repeated on the pillows, framed as art, and in the books filling the bookcases. You’ll notice several other Dr. Seuss books layered in throughout the space.

Not only does the room feel patriotic because of the red, white and blue color scheme, but other fun elements support this motif as well. The marquee lights on the wall (in particular those star versions), the Moravian star ceiling pendants, the striped fabrics and other textiles and some of the more retro elements nod to the American theme.

To achieve a similar look in your own space, we’ve rounded up some items to help you get the same vibe. Click any of the images below to learn more about each item.

We hope you enjoyed this fun and unique loft space!
