My Favorite Things 2013!
It’s long past black Friday… but I can STILL guarantee you that I will NOT be out with the crowds, it is just not my thing. In fact, it is funny, I used to love shopping, especially thrifting, but after having kids, I just don’t savor it as much as I did. It is TOO much work. But shopping online and having it delivered right to my door, now that I can do!
Even without shopping on purpose… I do have a few of my favorite things from this year to share with you! So thank you Melissa, of 320 Sycamore for inviting me to join in on her favorite things series this year!!
I tired to break it down into a few different sections of my life…
Working on my fitness…
Um, yeah. So I have been trying to get back into shape… It is hard and a long process. So far I’ve lost 10 lbs and about 6-7 inches… so that is awesome, but it is also taking a long time so I have a long way to go. Things I really like right now are realy helping me:
My Awesome trainer Tennison!!, For days I don’t want to go to the gym… some simple hand weights, and our Total Gym XLS Trainer, and my newest addition, my own little blender baby a new Blendtec Total Blender
.
Putting on Makeup:
I am not a big makeup girl, I wear it when I go out, most of the time, but that is about it. I have never bought “real” makeup, although I just ordered a kit from Maskcara that I am really excited to try it out. But this year I found three things at the drug store that I love. Dry Shampoo, a new mascara, and a lip stain… cuz I NEVER reapply lipstick! The stain is HECKA bright… but I love it. And then… I found Dry shampoo, I’ve tried a ton of brands, and can I admit my favorite one in Suave… awesome price, works great.
Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo Spray, L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara and Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain and Balm, Frenzy
Around the House:
Okay so last summer I needed new appliances for our kitchen. I got a new oven and I really love it! Mine is electric, not gas, but I love the way it looks, and works!! (I got mine for a screaming deal at a scratch and dent place!, but they are available elsewhere too!) I also got a new sofa for a screaming deal on Wayfair for only $409! (um right now it is only $321) It is SURPRISINGLY comfortable and just a really simple clean shape, I am happy with it for sure… I will show more about it later!
GE Cafe : 30 Free Standing Range and Sofab Coco Sofa from Wayfair
For my Kiddos:
For Christmas, my girls are getting a range of things, but two things I am excited about are these:
A Greek Block Set and a Planetarium
Oh and one extra final thing, totally random and super cheap, but worth every penny! A Scalp Massager… seriously love!
Be sure to check out yesterday’s last post at Natty by Design
And the next blogger on the list… my sweet friend Rhoda of Southern Hospitality!

I’m a dry shampoo fanatic, but haven’t tried this one yet!
I have tried 3 different dry shampoos, and this Suave dry shampoo worked the VERY best on my hair. I have very fine, thinning hair – but it worked well for my husband & kids, who have a lot more, and a lot thicker hair, too!
Great list, Cassity…so fun to read these every day!
Ohh the scalp massager…. Can seriously put anyone in a trance. Ours is on our coffee table, so it’s forever at the ready 🙂
Cassity~ 10 pounds?? That is not easy, good job girl. I got one of those scalp massagers as a white elephant one year, and I actually LOVE it. So fun to see it on your list!
