How to Build Recessed Shelves Between Studs in a Wall

Today I am going to show you how to build recessed shelves between studs in a 2×4 wall.  Cassity and I chose to install these recessed shelves in our guest bathroom.  Our girls share the same bathroom that is our guest bathroom and we were tired of our girls messes on the vanity counter top and wanted to find a solution to keep it cleaner.  We came up with a better option of where to store the little things they needed to get ready everyday.

How to Build Recessed Wall Shelves Between Studs

We had a blank wall that needed some love.  We have had a plan in our minds for the longest time to build recessed shelves in the wall between the studs.  Our bathroom is small to begin with and limited with places to store things.

We put together this video of the entire process on how to build it.  This is some thing that can be done in your house as well.  I don’t think that we are the only ones who need extra storage space to help organize a bathroom.  We love the way it looks and functions.

Watch this video and let us know what you think.  Also we have created a building plan of the recessed shelves in our shop so you can build the same thing in your home.

To build recessed shelves between studs in a 2×4 wall, download the printable building plan — click here or use the button below to add it to your cart from the Remodelaholic Shop.

Helpful products I used in the video and love using:

Alex Plus Caulk
Rapid Fuse Glue
Nail Hole Filler
4″ Mini Foam Roller Refill
Titebond Wood Glue

More woodworking plans:

  • Table Saw Workbench with T-Track System
  • Portable Wooden Wedding Arch/Garden Arbor
  • Flip-Over Barstool Step Ladder

This is a very good way to use this space and it looks good also.

The video was great. I have also been trying to make some shelves in my home for my kids. I was actually searching about it and reach here. It was a great forum and I would definitely post here once I complete my work.
