All low maintenance hair lovers have a couple of go-to hairstyles, but if you’re tired of the same look day in and day out, it might be time to add some new hairdos to your arsenal. These lazy day hairstyles are perfect for when you want your hair to look good without a lot of effort. Try a few and use your favorites for quick and easy no-fuss style!
1. Low rolled bun
Start with a ponytail, roll, and pin into place for a simple bun. You can make it as smooth or messy as you like and place it just about anywhere on your head. Add a headband, colored clip, or other fun accessories to dress it up.
2. The triple ponytail
This ponytail trio also goes by another name – the mowhawk ponytail! So if you’re feeling a little edgy, this is the perfect lazy day hairstyle to try. If you’re in a rush you can even skip the extra steps of wrapping each pony with more hair and just use elastics.
Who knew you could tie your hair in knots and actually make it look fabulous? This simple style takes a little more time but requires just a few bobby pins to pull it off. You’ll have sleek, fashion-forward hair that stays out of your face on a busy day.
4. Topsy Tail
You’ve probably heard of the topsy tail. Maybe you lived through its original decade of popularity (the 90’s) and are thrilled with the comeback! It’s a super-simple way to turn a boring ponytail into something with a little more flair. In fact, the topsy tail is so easy and versatile that Twist Me Pretty can show you four more ways to wear it in four minutes. Pick your favorite!
5. Messy ponytail and braid
Sometimes a regular old ponytail just isn’t going to cut it and this easy hairdo gives the basic pony a loose, lovely makeover. Start with a “topsy tail” like the one shown above and combine it with a soft braid to add texture and style.
6. Twisty Half-Up
This easy twisted hairstyle can be used on just about any length of hair with the right bobby pinning skills. Skip the curls to make it faster, or try one of these easy ways to get waves and curls to prep your hair beforehand.
7. Triple twisted ponytail
Divide your hair into three sections for easy twisting and pinning with this lazy day hair. There are no fancy knots, no flip this under and roll this up – it’s that simple. And since it only uses bobby pins, this is also a great hairdo for days when you find yourself without elastics!
8. Lazy girl’s “beehive”
Vintage hair can add a little class to any lazy day and this beehive style makes it easy. All you need is a mesh chignon form like this one and some bobby pins to keep everything in place. Long-haired girls may need to tuck extra hair under again when finishing the twist in the back.
9. Half-up Tuck
A headband or scarf is one of those age-old ways to enjoy a lazy hair day, but this little trick will have you wearing a headband even more often. This style is a half-up tuck, but you can do the same thing with all of your hair if you want it out of the way for the day.
10. Double-twist bun
Give a boring bun some real volume with this double twist tutorial. Even thinner hair can achieve a bigger, fuller, prettier kind of bun with a bit of twisting and teasing and no one will know that this is actually one of your lazy hair days!
