25 Best Tips for a Healthy Lifestyle
Confession time again! Like many American’s, I struggle with leading a healthy lifestyle. I feel super blessed to have an amazing family and a rewarding stay at home career, but I know I could do better when it comes to taking care of my own needs. By now you should know that I LOOOOVE making and eating yummy things…but that little hobby can come back to bite me in the tushie (literally) when it’s time to step on the scale. All the DIY projects I do around my house and post for your enjoyment do require strength and movement, but I definitely spend a lot of time behind-the-scenes parked in front of the computer writing, researching, editing photos, and managing the site, a WHOLE lotta time.
With all of the changes happening around here–a big move, a new place to live, 2 little kids–I’ve decided that I need to make a few more changes just for me.
I’m recommitting to getting healthy, I talked about it here right after having Lydia- and things fizzled out with life and a new baby. I kept trying to recommit then the move about killed us. I don’t feel bad that I haven’t done as well as I planned. I think that is part of life. Learning new things or the same things over and over again as life changes. But it is time to really begin, so I’ve started a new active hobby… running. I know I have always joked, that “if you see me running, call 911”. Cuz there is no other reason for me to be running.
I am a week into the couch to 5 k program. It is great. I have always been the slowest runner ever, in high school when we had to run the timed state fitness test, I was always in the worst performers group. So running has not been my thing. But lately I’ve been feeling like I want to run, and we have this great canyon trail that starts a half mile form my new house…. I am SO excited about it, and I really am enjoying it. Justin has been doing it with me, and we’ve been bringing the girls along in a running stroller we borrowed from our friends My oldest Etta wants to run with us, she is a little small for now, but I am really excited about the positive influence she is seeing that being active and running is fun. I want my kids to enjoy being active and not worry about every bite they eat, or their particular body types, and I know that starts with me. (no pressure! yikes!)
Anyway, in honor of these changes, I want to share some of the resources I’ve discovered with you 25 healthy lifestyle tips… to be exact, I’ve made a list of workouts, motivators, recipes, and lifestyle suggestions that are perfect for stay-at-home and/or work-at-home parents, bloggers, and busy people. So, who wants to join me in the challenge to get healthy?
I’d love it if you’d pin and share this post with your friends on Pinterest using the button above. But if you’d like to pin individual pictures, please follow the links provided and pin directly from the original source. (It’s the right thing to do!)

I hope that you find some of these healthy lifestyle tips helpful to getting your life on track! I know I will be working on me, and I will try to share how it is going.
Cassity Kmetzsch started Remodelaholic after graduating from Utah State University with a degree in Interior Design. Remodelaholic is the place to share her love for knocking out walls, and building everything back up again to not only add function but beauty to her home. Together with her husband Justin, they have remodeled 6 homes and are working on a seventh. She is a mother of four amazing girls. Making a house a home is her favorite hobby.
Thanks for this awesome post! I am struggling with staying home with my little one, blogging, and trying to lose weight & these are great tips! {just this morning I hit my 15 lb lost mark so I’m re-energized about getting on track and this just made it easier!}
Sam! I am so glad. GREAT JOB btw! 15 lbs is awesome, it sounds like I need to get some tips from you! Remember don’t be too hard on yourself, life changes really add up and it is like starting from scratch. Just be positive and I am sure you will get to your goal!
Wow, so many great links, thanks! I’ve found that the biggest difference is in the food rather than the workout. I used to do the “insanity” workout, hardcore 6 days a week for at least an hour a day, but nothing happened. I quit that workout, but changed my diet, and almost instantly, I saw a difference.
Sofia, I am really going to have to reign in my diet. I don’t like to make myself eat a certain way only protein and stuff like that, I just tend to feel angry about it when i do it. But, that said I just need to start counting calories! I will make this a priority! Thanks for telling me what helped you out!
Oh I need this! Especially the healthy snack links…. Awesome!
