7 Adorable DIY Baby Mobiles
1. Hot Air Balloon Mobile
Try this hot air balloon DIY baby mobile and your baby will be reaching for the sky in no time. The clouds are a great touch! You don’t need a sewing machine for this, since it’s all sewn by hand. Don’t worry, it’s easier than it sounds, but it might take some time to finish. It’ll be so worth it, though!
2. Painted Sticks Mobile
This is as easy as it gets to make a DIY baby mobile, but it’s colorful and will look great from your baby’s view. Paint stripes on a couple of sticks and hang them up, so simple.
3. Yarn Balls Mobile
This DIY baby mobile is easy to customize to match your nursery’s colors. Choose yarn in the colors you want and wrap them around a couple of small balloons. Mix glue and water and brush that on the yarn, let dry, and then you’ve got a couple of cute yarn balls ready to hang up! Here’s a tutorial that shows you exactly how to make the yarn balls. If that sounds like too much work to you, you could simply wrap yarn around small styrofoam balls and call it a day.
4. Butterfly Mobile
You won’t believe how these beautiful butterflies are made. They started out their lives as… wait for it… plastic milk jugs! After cutting them out, tracing them with butterfly shapes and patterns, and coloring them in, these little butterflies are ready to be turned into a mobile.
5. Crocheted Dragonfly Mobile
Do you like to crochet? Or maybe you’ve always wanted to learn. This really cute dragonfly mobile is crocheted and will be soft and fun for your baby to grab.
6. Floral Fabric Mobile
When I first say this DIY baby mobile, I thought it was beautiful but maybe a little hard to make. Then I looked a bit closer and realized that it was just circles of floral fabric that was cut out and stringed up. Wow, so easy but so pretty! You do need to have some vintage floral fabric on hand, but you can always find some on Etsy or eBay.
8. Cloud Mobile
This ethereal DIY baby mobile will match any decor and, despite its simple white color, looks 3-D and interesting from both below and straight on. I can see myself making this while watching some good (or not-so-good) TV. Who’s in?
I hope you’ve found a DIY baby mobile from this list that would be perfect for your baby… or yourself! Have you seen other great DIY baby mobiles around the web? Share your finds or creations, I’d love to see!
