Total room makeover: paint, furniture, lighting, curtains, and all! Brynne from The Gathered Home made over her whole dining room in phases, and the finished product is beautiful!

Makeover as style evolution: Most rooms come together gradually and take a few changes to get the room to look and function like you want. Karen from Dogs Don’t Eat Pizza shows you where her dining room was and how she tweaked a few thing to make it what it is now. I love the addition of those 3 big mirrors!
Paint!: Sometimes a fresh coat of paint is all the update that a room needs! Heidi from Kruse’s Workshop painted her dining room in Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore and Cotton White by Diamond Vogel.

New lighting: A new bold paint color and a fun modern light fixture really set the stage for this lovely dining room redesign that Stephanie from The Divine Living Space did for one of her clients.

Fresh, fun curtains: Curtains are another easy, quick, and relatively inexpensive dining room update. Beth of The Lucky Lass added new curtains as a finishing touch to her “moody midcentury modern” dining room.

New chairs or chair covers: Sometimes you find a fabulous fabric print that just brings your whole space to life. And in a dining room, recovering a chair or cushion is a great place to showcase the fabric you love! Stephanie of The Divine Living Space used a beautiful fabric to add a punch of color to the breakfast nook cushions.

New dining table and/or chairs: If you’re using a hand-me-down or big-box-special table that you don’t love, try DIYing a new dining table! Amy from Her Toolbelt built this husky farmhouse dining table by modifying a plan by Ana White — check out all of the DIY kitchen tables we’ve built and featured here on Remodelaholic.

Fresh table linens: New or old, every table can use a new tablecloth! Nicki from Sweet Parrish Place picked up this bold vintage number on her thrifting adventures.
