Top Ten DIY Concrete Project Ideas

I’ve been seeing lots of concrete projects around lately. While I haven’t decided yet if I love it for *my* home or not, I do know that I love how creative people are getting with using the rough material in unlikely projects in their homes and gardens. If you love the industrial look, concrete fits perfectly with the rough metal, pipes, and chains that are really popular for the grungy/factory look right now. And, it is inexpensive and fairly easy to work with, so even if you have to try a project twice, you’re still not hurting your wallet much. A DIYers dream, right?

What do you think — love the concrete look or prefer something more classic? Either way, check out the ingenuity of these ten home projects and five craft ideas I’ve rounded up for you! And then come browse and join the party — love to see what you’ve been up to!

  1. I like concrete counters (though that’s funny as there’s a concrete truck outside my neighbors house right now and it’s barely 7 am and I’m not liking it so much at this exact moment), but I think it has it’s place like a loft space. For my Craftsman Pacific Northwest House, it probably would look a bit out of place.

  2. I just bought a Concrete Table from Mecox Gardens. I how easy they are to maintain and they look so beautiful. Mecox had a great selection of dining tables, in so many styles, but I knew that concrete was the best choice for my home.

  3. I love anything concrete and work with it all day long. I love these links and ideas to fun concrete DIY projects. Thanks for sharing!
