Happy Friday! This is our last Friday before school starts… the last Friday of summer! We’ve had a great summer, so I’m okay with it coming to a close and getting back to a bit more of a schedule. I’d love to see what you’ve been up to this summer (and hear what you have planned!). If you’re interested in being featured in an upcoming Friday Favorites: Bloggers, leave your links below at the Remodelaholics Anonymous party — Instagrammers, tag #imaremodelaholic to show off your projects — and if you don’t blog or Instagram, you can drop us a line here to show us your project or message us over on Facebook. Here are our favorites from last week’s party and around the web:
Favorite easy IKEA hack: IKEA is a go-to for inexpensive lights, but I love how Pillar Box Blue added maps to make these basic drum lampshades even better!
Favorite old-to-new upcycle: This changing table turned doll bunk bed. Awesome reader Joanna shared here:
We turned a changing table into a baby doll bunk bed! We bought it off of a garage sale page for $10 my husband helped by cutting off the bottom shelf and sanding the bottoms of the legs, I touched up the paint and made the mattresses out of a foam bed topper and fabric, and the two quilts were actually made by my mom and my sister ☺️ so the whole thing was made with love!
Favorite vintage: I’ve never seen these folding vintage rulers before, but now I need one to make and easy photo display like Craftivity Designs — so cute!
Favorite on-sale find: (affiliate link) This cute entry bench comes in SEVEN colors — it’s a good deal any day, PLUS it is on sale this week! I’m partial to the teal but the other colors are lovely as well, so pick one to fit your style!
Favorite DIY desk: This home office makeover by Uncookie Cutter is all-around awesome, but just look at that huge U-shaped desk! So much workspace!
Favorite family brag moment: I shared over on Instagram, but I wanted to share here, too, because my sister is amazing — she built this retaining wall and garden step combo from salvaged concrete chunks that she picked up for FREE! This budget design thing must run in our blood because WOW!
Favorite neutral but not boring kids’ room: This boys room at Mini House Mighty Hearts is so perfect, and would so easily accommodate a pair of girls, or a boy-girl sibling room, too. It’s hard to go wrong with metal beds, shiplap walls, and monograms 😉
Favorite plant-friendly decor: This wall planter by Twelve on Main is so easy, and could go indoors or out — or both!
Now show me what you’ve been working on! Happy end of summer/beginning of school!
