Meet the Blogger: Not Just a Housewife
Hello there! We are excited to share this month’s Meet the Blogger post! Meet Stacy from Not Just a Housewife!
My name is Stacy Risenmay and I blog over at Stacy Risenmay- Not Just A Housewife. I have been DIYing since I was a kid. I use to sneak into my dad’s shed and get his hand saw and create things from his scrap wood pile. By 15 I was decorating rooms and doing furniture makeovers. I built my first piece of furniture shortly after getting married and it has been all uphill from there! I share my journey of fixing up our 1938 home on my blog. Room makeovers, woodworking projects, gardening, the occasional kid activity or craft, and holiday decor are all things I love to share on my site. Here are a few of my favorite projects.
Sliding Wall To Hide Electrical Boxes
I recently added a paver patio to the back of our house. We had one problem though… Ugly electrical boxes smack dab in the center of it. I came up with a solution. I made a sliding wall to hide it! It easily glides out of the way when you need to access the electrical boxes and goes right back when you are done.
I have two boys who love the mountains. Anything to do with nature, really. When I was designing and planning their room makeover, I had a lot of fun using the mountains as inspiration. They have a seating area, a gallery wall above their dresser, and unique L shaped beds with a fort underneath. Head over to see the full room!
Our house is always slowly morphing as one thing gets worn out and is replaced or as I move things to different rooms and rearrange. I love our family room because of all the natural light! We recently got a new sofa and I changed up the gallery wall to show some of our favorite places to visit.
Bathroom Mirror with a Secret!
We recently gutted the bathroom and gave it a huge makeover. When we took down the big bulky medicine cabinet to find the recessed area the original medicine cabinet fit in. I really wanted to a round mirror but I also really wanted to use the recessed area for storage. Head over to see what I ended up doing!
My other two boys wanted a new space too and since they both love music I decided to go with a more urban vibe. This faux brick wall was the perfect addition! I love how it looks aged. You should check out the whole room including the two beds I built.
Thanks for letting me share a few of my recent favorite projects. I have a big curb appeal makeover that will be up on the blog soon as well as a teen girl bedroom makeover, a kitchen makeover, and my Halloween decor. I would love for you to stop by and check out the rest of my blog. Sign up for my emails so you don’t miss a thing!
