My Secret Project!
Okay, so for the last two months I have been running around like a headless chicken- busy and brainless! Just too much going on. Mostly because inexplicably about 10 HUGE deadlines came up all in the month of September. And we were going out of town the first 2 weeks of October, so the deadlines couldn’t be extended!
I don’t know about you, but when I get that overwhelmed, I can’t seem to see straight. Much less make myself get anything done but what is absolutely necessary. So my house, is a disaster. And the projects we were working on made it worse! Here is some awful proof from a closet we have been repurposing, just to humiliate myself ( and show you the truth about huge projects!)
All of our piano music…
And actually relatively clean view of a bunch of toys and books!
And games galore! YIKES!
Since getting home for the last week or so I have had my friend over to help me do some cleaning and organizing because with the move to WordPress (yes we opened that can of worms… but I am still glad about it!) there are about 85,000,000 million things to be done and updated and cleaned and organized and found for that matter… (I lost all my first 120 posts….) and recently I noticed that half of the imported posts and missing half of the actual writing and images…. HEADACHE! So, I may not be very present for the next little while.
Actually, I should take the time to ask for some help with special guest featuress… Christmas or Thanksgiving themed is what I am looking for, that I could feature… if you have anything send it my way! PLEASE! comeitch@gmail.com.
Anywho, I am not here to complain, instead to tell you about the project that had been HEAVY HEAVY hanging over my poor head- that is now basically done. I am pretty sure it is one of my favorite projects we have EVER done! I HOPE you all love it.
BUT you won’t see it here first. This project was done thanks to a partnership with HouseLogic. Which means they get the honor of showing it off to you over the next four Mondays. And if you leave a comment on the post you will get the chance to win a $100 gift certificate (with each post!) So, you have to stop by House Logic to check it out.
Just to give you a teaser here is a portion of the wall and the initial drawing I did of the project when we first considered it… The design and scope of the project increased about 1000 % but this might just get you sorta excited for it!
Our Great Wall of Cabinets Project:
Well?!… Thoughts? Please be sure to go check it out today!

very nice idea!!!u should do it…
That will be stunning! I think it’s perfect the way it is. Good luck with your project.
Is the link “go check it out” supposed to take you to something? It’s taking you to HouseLogic but the link states “No more articles”?
That is the link they gave me, but I guess they haven’t posted it yet… give it a little time it should be up soon! Sorry!
I can’t find the project at HouseLogic. Can you post a link? Your EntertoWin photo just goes to another remodelaholic page.
There are links, but they don’t highlight in WordPress yet, I need to have that fixed.
WOW, that is going to be beautiful! HouseLogic…new to me!
I’m so glad I can finally comment on your blog! Maybe it’s just me (I couldn’t view the other comments) but when I click on the Home Logic link, nothing comes up. I went to the site to try to find your project, but had no luck. I can’t wait to see how your project turned out!
It should be up now, I just checkd out the link, give it a try!
Just checked out your project on HouseLogic – I can hardly wait to see how it turns out!
I really love how your taking a virtually unused space and making it into something completely functional and stylish! And, I adore the window seat idea… one day I hope to have one myself (my place is a little on the cozier side right now, so no room for a window seat just yet).
I’m also digging how you’ve designed the bookshelves – I have some old bookshelves in my home office space right now that I’m not so crazy about; you’ve given me some inspiration as to how my hubby and I might be able to update that area! So, thank you for that!!!
Take care,
Christina

Christina! I am so glad you liked it! We actually made some changes to that original design, since we needed doors to keep babies out of. But I wouldlove to see what you do to your bookcases! GOOD LUCK!

I think we are living parallel lives. I have a sale coming up in November and I had to take my mom out of state for a week last week. I am getting a later start on my line up than normal and I am in full out panic mode. So what am I doing? Reading blogs for inspiration. 🙂 I too, have left house projects half done. We have had a bathtub in the hallway for two months, I have an exterior door painted but not the fun accent details I want to add and it will be getting cold here very soon. Argh! So I come here and think, “Remodelaholic take me away.” Instead I am reminded to get back to work. 🙂
Best of luck. Some how what needs to get done will.

We will survive… and just think come January first, maybe we will have some free time!… Oh wait, maybe that doesn’t sound too great! But it is nice to know that I am not alone!
Oh my goodness, I CAN’T WAIT to see it all finished!! I headed over to HouseLogic and read your post. You are such a tease! I want to see the finished result!!! Ack, the suspense is killing me.
You and your husband are so great at all this woodwork. I’m so envious!

you’ll feel so much freer with the clutter contained in those great cabinets, and you’ll be even more creative!
So darn exciting! I don’t know how you keep your sanity, you are amazing. It is going to be a beautiful functional room. Can’t wait!
