Best Paint Colors for Your Home: TURQUOISE
Welcome to the latest edition of Remodelaholic’s Color Files! I have to admit, I was kind of surprised to see how excited of you got about last week’s color, true blue. I didn’t know that pure blue had so many fans–awesome! This week, I’m pretty sure you’ll have a few things to say about another saturated color hue: TURQUOISE.
Turquoise is the name of a blue-green color….and a semi-precious stone that is blue-green in color. (It’s one of those chicken or the egg things–which came first, the name of the stone or the name of the color?) It looks great on it’s own or paired with other bright colors. Turquoise is a happy color. If you look at the examples below, you’ll notice that none of the featured rooms is the least bit moody; I think turquoise just can’t help but make people happy.

I love the pop of color on the door in the last photo. I never thought of painting a door, just walls. Definitely something neat to consider.
Last year I finally realized my dream of painting my interior turquoise. I used SICO colour Bluebird. Love!
I love this colour! I had a dark grey striped wall against a pale grey wall and it was lacking something … along came a tester pot of turquoise paint and I added a feature stripe of the turquoise colour and it has totally changed the look – I absolutely love it! You can check it out here

I’m in love with turquiose!!
Those are great rooms. I used turquoise in my laundry room since I have a traditional neutral palette throughout the rest of the house. I thought the laundry room was the one place I could take a chance with color (especially since turquoise is the color of liquid fabric softener!)

I love the color! And how the laundry baskets match too!
What color is the walls in the very first picture with the “turquoise” label??
Lori, I don’t have the exact color on that one, sorry!
Kate,
I also love that color and was disappointed that it was not given. I have been searching for the right shades of turquoise for 9 months now and the one I have is nearly exactly that color. Try Olympic Paints Bimini Blue # A57-6. Goos Luck
Thank you so much for assembling this collection of the nicest turquoises out there. You saved me a lot of time. I love them all and your fridge is fantastic.
I love turquoise so much I’ve used it in two rooms. My dining room is deep turquoise and my living room is a pale robins egg blue turquoise. both are accented with red and white. I love how happy my home is. No it’s not cool and trendy, but it’s fun and lovely.
And the most important thing is that YOU love it, not what anyone else thinks 🙂 I love it, too!
What shade of turquoise is the door in the last picture?
