9 Unique Pizza Recipes to take you beyond pepperoni ~ Tipsaholic.com #pizzarecipe #dinner

pizza recipes

Do you like to make your own pizza at home? Why not try something different than pepperoni and cheese for your next pizza? Try one of these 9 unique pizza recipes that pack a lot of flavor and nutrition in one slice! Pizza is definitely more versatile than some people might think.

1. Shrimp Fra Diavolo Pizza

If you like shrimp, you’ll love this fantastic shrimp pizza that includes grape tomatoes, sauteed onions, fresh basil, and mozzarella cheese. You’ll need to cook the shrimp and vegetables before you add them to the pizza, but shrimp is so fast to cook that it’ll take no time at all.

2. Sweet Potato Pizza with Kale and Caramelized Onions

This is my favorite pizza recipe, and I think you’ll like it too if you like sweet potato. The combination of caramelized onions and the other ingredients is just divine. You could also switch out the sweet potato for butternut squash for another unique pizza recipe!

3. Barbecue Chicken Pizza with Bacon and Corn

You might’ve heard of barbecue chicken pizza, but you haven’t tried it quite like this! With the addition of bacon and corn, this flavorful pizza is even better with chopped cilantro on top. Yum.

4. The Zucchini Anchovy

Anchovies have such a bad reputation in the pizza world, but they don’t deserve it. Find out just how delicious anchovies can be with this great pizza recipe. Don’t worry, there’s only one anchovy in the recipe, but it’s all that you need.

5. Beet Pesto Pizza with Kale and Goat Cheese

Beets and goat cheese together is a beautiful marriage, which means that this pizza recipe is going to be out of this world delicious. You’ll need to make this roasted beet pesto before you can assemble the pizza, but you should have some left over for a future dinner of pasta and beet pesto!

6. Sicilian Pan Pizza with Seared Eggplant

You already know that tomato sauce and eggplant go great together if you like eggplant parmigiana, but have you tried eggplant on pizza? This pizza recipe uses a baking sheet so you get the same crust that they make on the Sicilian coast: fluffy and crazy delicious.

7. Steakhouse Pizza

Hungry? This pizza recipe is sure to satisfy a big appetite! You don’t cook the steak right on the pizza crust; you cook it separately and add it on when the crust and cheese are done. Add your favorite steak sauce on top and you’ve got a unique pizza that everyone will love.

8. Three Cheese Peach and Prosciutto Pizza with Basil and Honey Balsamic Reduction

This pizza recipe shows you just how versatile pizza can be! Peach, cheese, prosciutto, honey, and balsamic vinegar all in one place? Try this one before peaches (or nectarines, which would also work in this recipe) go out of season!

9. Chorizo Manchego Pizza

If you haven’t tried chorizo yet, you’re in for a treat. This pizza recipe uses cured chorizo that you slice, but fresh chorizo can be used instead if you can only find that – just make sure to cook it before you add it to the pizza.

After you’ve tried one or two of these unique pizza recipes (or all of them!), try your hand at creating your own pizza with your favorite ingredients. You might be surprised at how good your creations taste! After all, you can’t go wrong with pizza.
