My background is in Photography and Communications—so writing and sharing on my blog have become like second nature to me. Please stop by and take a look at some past projects!
Here is a project we recently finished in our home. Our foyer was a bit dated and needed a breathe of fresh air…so here is the before…
I heart power-tool lessons 😉

Oh I love this paint!! Light French Grey by Behr on the walls.
Cassity Kmetzsch started Remodelaholic after graduating from Utah State University with a degree in Interior Design. Remodelaholic is the place to share her love for knocking out walls, and building everything back up again to not only add function but beauty to her home. Together with her husband Justin, they have remodeled 6 homes and are working on a seventh. She is a mother of four amazing girls. Making a house a home is her favorite hobby.
I actually didn’t mind the foyer before pictures, but I love it now! What an amazing result. You must be so pleased!
Just wonder if you wouldn’t mind sharing what weave and border you used for your stair carpets. They look amazing!
Awesome job on the whole project 🙂
Did you add any board to the batten? It looks great and was curious if you felt the need to cover any texture. We have “knockdown” in the house and I would very much prefer not to cover it if possible (we want it fairly high and don’t want to have to cover seams made by multiple boards). Also, did you do anything to blend the batten with the base boards?
