Best Colors for Your Home: RAINBOW Edition!
Is it just me or is this year really flying by? The next holiday that we’re already speeding towards is St. Patrick’s Day. In honor of the rainbows that always lead to a leprechaun’s pot o’ gold, I thought we’d spend the latest edition of The Color Files looking at rooms that are full of color. Instead of a single color being the focal point of these rooms, there are at least seven colors that share the stage. You know, ROY G. BIV, right? (insert They Might Be Giants song…)
Admittedly, some of these rooms are a bit too colorful for my taste. But all of these rooms prove that when paired in the right way, a mix of many colors can create a vibrant space that is like a dose of happiness! It’s fun to see how even softer colors can take on a subtle rainbow effect that is really stunning. You won’t find any paint colors listed in this edition of The Color Files, but you will find lots of encouragement to take chances with color in your house.

Thanks for the inspirational post. I really can’t say that there’s one that don’t appeal to my tastes. That rainbow-striped stairs looked a little too trippy though. 😛
My favorite are definitely the rainbow bookshelves. they’re simply too clever and psychedelic without being too striking. Will definitely try that out with my collection sometime.
Tom, we are glad that you were inspired. Thanks for visiting our blog, we hope that you come again.

Telisa, isn’t color so much fun. We are glad that you were inspired.
I’m a librarian and nothing makes me cringe more than color-coded books. Ack!!
Ha! When ever i pin a color coded book shelf a LOT of people freak out! I totally understand, i LOVE the way it looks, but don’t think I could ever do it, I like to be able to organize my books so that I can use them often!
HOw gorgeous – I’m such a black and white ( and grey ) person – except when I see images like these – and I want to run around and put big bold beautiful color EVERYWHERE !!!

Hi I personally just LOVE colors I put as many as possible in my house until my husband removes them all he likes stuff that is mellow and not boom kapow right in his face so he doesn’t like loud things pretty much
