Home Sweet Home on a Budget: Dining Room Makeovers

Hello again, Remodelaholics!  It’s Ruth again, from A House in Holland.   I’m back today to continue the June series on dining rooms with some inspiring makeovers from other bloggers.  Hopefully these amazing transformations will inspire you to make a few changes of your own.  Maybe you are already working on some projects, and seeing these finished rooms will offer a little encouragement.  Please remember, if you do any spruce ups–no matter how big or small–in your dining area this month, we’d love to see them during this month’s Dining Room Linkup on June 30th.

Now, let’s talk about Dining Room Makeovers.  I think we can all agree that dining rooms can be tricky, especially formal dining rooms.  If your dining area is integrated with your kitchen, your choices are limited because generally you want the dining space to look and function as a part of your kitchen decor.  But, if you have a dedicated dining space, you tend to have a few more choices to make.  Will it have formal or casual decor?  Should it be for small gatherings or large?  Do you want to display china or other collections?  What kind of lighting do you want to have?  Will it function only as a dining area, or can you make the space multi-task?

I’ve found dining room makeovers from five bloggers that had to answer those tough questions.  Take a look at their before and after pictures and be inspired!
