Best Colors for Your Home: Pale Yellow
It’s time to talk color. Let’s take a look at a perennial favorite: pale yellow. There are some gorgeous shades of creamy yellows out there. Many of them function as neutrals, matching with just about any other color they are paired with. This makes pale yellows a good starter color for those of you who are a little shy about using anything other than white, gray, or tan on your walls. In fact, when paired with white, light yellow creates a perfect two-tone effect.
Pale yellow is a surprisingly versatile color, and it works well with seasonal décor year round. It’s a perfect match with the pastels of Spring. Summertime’s beachy vibe and bright colors look great against a sandy yellow. Warmed up by fall’s rich earth tones, creamy yellows provide a perfect backdrop to showcase the colors of fall. In the winter, yellow adds a much needed dose of sunshine, and looks fabulous with bright, holiday colors. In fact, if you really enjoy dramatic changes in colors and accessories to celebrate various holidays and seasons in your home, then I whole-heartedly recommend a shade of yellow as the perfect canvas for your work.

Yellows are beautiful, we painted our living room a color that has yellow tones and we love it. Yellows are soothing and happy colors.
I’ve totally been on the fence about trying a pale yellow. Thanks for the inspiration and the push to go for it!
I painted our guest bedroom a pale yellow last year and I still love it. It’s the brightest, most cheerful room in the house. I paired the yellow with varying shades of gray and black to make the room look more classy and mature and I’m thinking of adding some coral to the mix this year!
I love Benjamin Moore’s “Butter”–so pretty!
I helped my mother paint her kitchen a few years back from a country blue to a pale yellow – she didn’t want to replace the light blue countertops or the real oak (not the weird ninties honey oak, these are slightly darker like real oak) and it was the perfect color to bring her kitchen to life.
Please keep showing more color in homes! While the all white is pretty, it isn’t for everyone! Love your blog and your creativity!
Love it. Yellow is a new shade to me that I am working into the color palette for this house. Thanks for all of the colors. The only hard part is to choose which ones are my favorite!
I love yellow. I recently painted my office yellow. It definitely is a cheerful color.
I painted my interior Sherwin Williams “Creme” 15 years ago…I have NEVER tired of it and even used the same color when I repainted all my walls 7 years ago! https://beckwithstreasures.com/home-tour/
I am so happy to see someone post about the virtues of “yellow.” With all the greys, whites and tans, I was beginning to think I was “out dated”…but I LOVE this color. Bright and cheery in the daytime and warm and cozy at night! For me it is the perfect template for whatever color I want to infuse in my decor…whether it be red, blue, green or whatever strikes my fancy! I just change the accessories. And since I store “leftover” paint, annual touchups are a breeze. My walls always look freshly painted!
Thank you for letting me know I am still “with it.” LOL!
Haha, whatever you love is “with it” Beck 🙂 — thanks for sharing your favorite color!
