Friday Favorites: Beautiful Backsplashes and Smart Boot Storage

Happy Friday! Can you believe that October is nearly over? It’s flown by for us — but we are so excited for Halloween! even if we do always finish up costumes at the very last minute… anyone else?

Friday Favorites

Favorite ambience: I’m always a fan of a fun light, and this upcycled light fixture turned lantern at Sadie Seasongoods is magical! Just think of how wonderful it will look with a pair of these on your front porch through the chilly fall nights and into the sparkling winter evenings!

Favorite backsplash: I love my white kitchen, but this patterned backsplash (photographed at a local home show and shared over on Instagram last week) has me swooning!

Favorite book-ish project: Isn’t House Homemade‘s dictionary page wall gorgeous, especially paired with that wainscoting! (See more of our wainscoting crushes here.)

Favorite sign of fall: The boots coming out! We have a lot of boots in our house, so I really like that this shoe storage from Shanty 2 Chic has both shorter shoe storage and cubbies for the boots. 

Favorite knits: Fall is the time to pull out all the chunky cable knits and cozy socks — so get in on the cozy with this knit pouf ottoman (affiliate link) on Amazon in a dozen different colors! We have a similar one in our living room and it’s a great piece!

Favorite creative map use: We love maps (like all these printable maps here and here) and these map stars by Pillar Box Blue are such a cute addition to a study corner, kids room, pretty much anywhere. (She has the free template and printable, too!)

Favorite smart parent idea: Coats and car seats aren’t a safe combo for the littles, but how do you keep them warm AND safe?! Reality Daydream has the perfect solution with this cute fleece poncho. So great for young kids! 

Favorite table setting: The Weathered Fox has a beautiful style, and I love the neutral but not boring vibe of this Thanksgiving tablescape. Every table needs a white pumpkin… or ten. 

Favorite pop of color: This contemporary kitchen  (photographed at a local home show and shared over on Instagram last week) has a lot of great elements — like the backsplash and the blue barstools!
