Switching things up a bit…

Happy Halloween!  (I wanted to show you our Family Halloween pictures first thing, but I will have to get back with you later today, since I haven’t taken them yet!!  Whoops!)

Anywho, no huge projects today, but I wanted to tell you about a small change I made in my living room.  I’ve had a green wingback (via craig’s list) by the sofa for a while, I really like having a chair right there, but I didn’t love the wingback.  It took up so much space visually because of the height… and it really is needing to be recovered.  So, I decided to trade it out.  The old chair is going into my daughter’s room with a slipcover to dress it up, and the a new chair has taken it’s place.  (sorry for the night time pictures, we have been crazy making costumes all day!)

Happy mail!! (if you follow me on Instagram you might have already seen this, follow me for a real time sneak peek at what we are doing…)

package from wayfair

I love the new chair, it is the Safavieh Leah chair, from Wayfair… but I have to admit it makes me want to buy a new sofa!  I love the style so much more than the more modern style of our current sofa!  But I guess I will just have to live with the opposing styles for another few, well who knows, it is just not a priority right now.

Anywho, here is the space now:

Before from when we got the new rug:

It isn’t a huge change, but I am surprised by how much more open our space feels.  I am loving it SO much more than I used to!  Yay for a new chair!!  Any fun updates you are working on?

  1. Ohhh! Love the new chair. I could buy new furniture all day. ha. Can’t wait to pop back for the Costume pics. I remember the post from last year where you guys did a great job making them.
    I made my ds *years ago* a Tarzan suit *not much to that one* and then the next year he went as
    Santana and they last year he dressed up he was a GoGo dancer. A lady at the party bought the
    costume right off his body. haha. Good thing he had clothes in the car. I love to sew but not a fan of
    sewing clothes. This year we get to see our precious 8-month old grandson all dressed up. I’m thinking
    he won’t be a GoGo dancer. 🙂

    Happy Halloween!

  2. Love the new chair! I think it goes much better with your sofa than the old one did. They both have lower backs and cleaner lines. A huge improvement!! Don’t ya just love getting new furniture? 🙂
