Thanksgiving Mantel Decor Ideas
The house is getting a little closer to being livable. We have been working on a bunch of little things. After we finally got the beam in place, which I didn’t really photograph life has been quite a bit better. Everything is getting back to normal. (our normal is a constant remodeling project or two and lots of laundry that needs to be put away)
Anyway, I am not sure I am going to get around to decorating the mantel for Thanksgiving… I know, who am I kidding, I have never decorated my mantel for Thanksgiving. Actually the truth of the matter is that we haven’t owned a mantel during the Thanksgiving season yet, up until now.
But because life is so busy I think I might just show you some great thanksgiving mantel decor ideas and inspiration, and I promise I will do it for real at Christmas time.
I love this handmade leaf garland, colorful felt and some yarns and you are set! Tutorial found on a Beautiful Mess.
I love the “Give Thanks” banner on rustic wood! And of course the wheat is a prefect addition found on It’s the Little Things.
I love these painted votives, there is just something so magical about candlelight. I also love how they wrapped the other glass votives with tissue paper or fall leaves! These would look great on a mantel, or a table centerpiece! Found on Martha Stewart.
This black and white Thanksgiving mantel is wonderful and so unique. It has whimsy and beauty! From Thistlewood Cottage.
I love the large ragamuffin garland, I need to make another one of these…. Found this image Homespun with love
More great options from Martha Stewart. I LOVE the cork leaf trivets.
I love using fall bounty for a simple but beautiful mantel. Found on Poetic Home.
I love this saying and the rustic wood! See how she made it on Kerry’s Kronicles.
Another Rustic wood project, obviously I like them a lot. This one is from Aimee at It’s Overflowing.
Love the chalkboard idea and simple bunting. Found on Love, Pomegranate House.
For this tablescape, the pumpkins were all painted white! LOVE it! From Chic on a Shoestring Decorating.
I think that half of blogdom sits around and waits for Layla’s next mantelscape, and I think she did a great job with this one! From the Lettered Cottage.
Not only do I love the décor on the mantel, I LOVE the mantel itself here! Found on AKADesign.
I am so in love with the feathers in the image above, I’ve seen them popping up here and there. LOVE! Found on Studio JRU.
Last but certainly not least. I LOVE these large paper flowers. This whole mantel is amazing! Found on A Place for Us blog.
So what are your thanksgiving mantel decor ideas?
What are your plans for Thanksgiving? I am making a TON of pies and going with my husband to his uncle’s house to hang out with the whole extended family! Should be LOTS of fun! (featured image source)
Cassity Kmetzsch started Remodelaholic after graduating from Utah State University with a degree in Interior Design. Remodelaholic is the place to share her love for knocking out walls, and building everything back up again to not only add function but beauty to her home. Together with her husband Justin, they have remodeled 6 homes and are working on a seventh. She is a mother of four amazing girls. Making a house a home is her favorite hobby.
That’s some good stuff you’ve got there…
I’ve had an awesome mantel to decorate for the last 5 years, and I hardly ever did! Now that I’ve got the time, I have a teensy little 2-inch lip masquerading as a mantel. I’ve got a weenie little berry garland on there for now, but I’m hoping I can get a nice hefty piece of moulding up there soon to bulk-up and beautify that space for my pretties!
Julie! We are posting next week how we just added a mantel to our stone fireplace wall… not sure if it will help but be sure to check back. But I also love this guest feature form a few years ago, maybe it will help you think about how you can upgrade your mantel! GOOD LUCK! (and here is to us both getting in gear to decorate a mantel at least once a year!!!)
Oh my goodness, the leaf-shaped trivets cut out of cork are brilliant, and such a simple idea!
I know right!
I just made those cork leaf trivets…easy and looks soooo good on any table really. Cheap too, if you buy the cork with a coupon! Make them…you will not regret it! : )
Wonderful post – such pretty mantels! Wanted to let you know that the “Give Thanks” mantel with the banner on the planked sign is actually mine, not HomesResult. Here is my original post from November 2010: https://itsthelittlethingsthatmakeahouseahome.blogspot.com/2010/11/our-give-thanks-mantel-thankful-garland.html
I do not know who HomesResult is, but I’ll be dealing with them for sure, considering they stole 6 of my photos without giving any credit back to my blog. Definitely wishing that I had watermarked all of my photos back then – live and learn! If you could change the link in your post, I would appreciate it so much! Sorry for the hassle.
