Hi everyone! I’m Melissa from Shabby Love. I’m a wife to my best friend, mother to one adorable boy, lover of all things old and shabby, blog addict, I constantly have decorating ideas running through my head, and I have a growing passion for photography. My family and the Lord are the most important things to me and so is transforming my home into a beautiful, relaxing, and welcoming space for the people I love. Since first stumbling across a decorating blog a few years ago, I completely fell in love with the vintage style and I have been slowly re-doing our home, one room at a time, with time worn treasures I find at garage sales, antique stores, and thrift stores.
I started my own blog in May of 2011 and have found it to be an incredible journey!! I have discovered a creative side to myself I never knew was there! I’m also amazed at the wonderfully talented and inspiring friends I have made along the way!

Do you remember this pallet cabinet my husband made for me last year?
As you can kind of see, there’s a lot of empty space on the wall above the cabinet. I needed something to fill the blank area but also provide a way to display some of my vintage finds.
A few weeks ago my mom gave me a vintage door that came out of one of their rental houses. I gave it a fresh coat of paint and Nate added three shelves to it using pallet boards. We put it directly behind the pallet cabinet.
We removed the glass insert in the center and I stapled one of my burlap coffee sacks to the back of the door.
Then it was time for the fun part – filling the shelves – with some of my favorite things.
Namely white ironstone, metal and wood!!
I forgot how much stuff I had stored away waiting for a place to be displayed!
