Those are wonderful! My Christmas bone is itching, too. But we can make things now and store them until December, right?
Actually Liz, they don’t really store… they lose their “crystal-ness” after a little while… I am not sure how long they last but when I opened them a year later they were all clouded! (I might have to check getting it wet… we’ll see!)
These are really cool!
I forgot all about making these! What a great idea forming the hearts first! Pinned ya Ü
Thanks Tracy for pinning! That makes my day!
I love this! Awesome idea
If you get a chance, link up on Thinky Linky Thursday.

Oh, I was reading your blog back then! I made some of your hearts… they were so fun and amazing how it all worked too! Thanks for the reminder repost!!
Tania
Yea, I am so glad you made them! They are really quite fun!
What a great idea! And I love Liz’s suggestion of doing this for Xmas… will have to “pin” and remember that!
Please make a BIG note that borax isn’t to play with – these look lovely but children and pregnant women shouldn’t be making these without wearing gloves etc. Borax is used as a pesticide and is fairly toxic. (see http://www.occup-med.com/content/4/1/27 and http://www.magicalchildhood.com/articles/borax.htm for information). Certainly not to be used as a decoration on cakes etc which some pple may be tempted to do with Valentine’s Day coming up etc.
Lovely and very pretty, however!
I certainly wouldn’t have put it on a cake, yikes!! Borax is a cleaning agent, but thanks for the note!
You don’t mention how much mix to use (ratio of mix and water).
Could you please explain. THANKS! I love your blog btw!!!
Hey Christy,
The “recipe” is actually right next to the list of supplies, next to Borax it says 3 Tbsp per every 1 cup of water… so depending on how many cups of water you use, you will need 3 Tbsp per each… does that make sense? Good Luck!
Can you use colored pipe cleaners or just the white? Thanks!!
You can definitely use colored! It would give it some great color! (and you could do any shape for any holiday!) Have fun!
