Featured Facebook Fans: Marianne’s Makeover
Marianne was struggling with finding the right layout for her living room. She wanted to keep her printer’s desk, but needed another desk for her computer. So she turned to all of you Remodelaholics for advice! We love the Remodelaholic community! You are a creative and talented group of people and give great advice! This is Marianne’s new gorgeous layout. She said,
“I got so many great suggestions, and it really helped me focus and not get overwhelmed! I started by adding an accent chair. I wanted to see how much it would fill the space before I got a desk… Then I ordered a desk/table (World Market). I took everyone’s advice and moved the printers desk to the center of the wall. I changed the art to something more architectural and less color… I bought empty frames and had some architectural images printed. (Originally, I planned on hanging them vertical, but the frames looked so good horizontal, I just hung them sideways. I still need to change the art, ha!) Most of the change was editing out the junk – dog crate, craft projects, etc. I’m still deciding what to do about an area rug… The one in the pic is under the printers desk, so I’m not lifting it until I know what I want to do. I have a better light fixture picked out, just haven’t ordered it yet… The photo was taken by a realtor/photographer Tyson Barnes, and is so much better than my iphone photo! I use this room every day, and I love how I’ve been able to add so much more furniture without making it look cramped. I think the desk’s open legs helps keep it from getting to heavy and crowded.”
