My Christmas Home Tour

After 12 days of working on Christmas projects and posts, I am happy to say my house is as done as it is gonna get for Christmas!!!   Does that mean the whole house is decorated?  Not on you life!  But either way, I guess it is perfect timing that I am finishing up the 12 days series, just as I am joining some other wonderful ladies in a holiday home tour.

Oh, and by home tour, I mean the one finished room in my house, my living room, mostly!  I know, I am SO boring, so real life!  But it is the only room in this house that we have fully finished, well almost… don’t even get me started about unfinished projects.  I have a problem, an addiction if you will, to unfinished projects.

Anywho, at least we can hang out in our very cheerful living room!

So the “theme” if you will for my decor has been Silver and gold… otherwise, I did whatever the heck I wanted!

So first, our silver and gold tree!

Silver and Gold Christmas Tree

I showed you how to make a no sew 2 minute Faux Fur tree skirt here.

I decided to make some new Christmas stockings this year, I created a full tutorial and included a pattern too!

I didn’t want to sew new throw pillows, but I found some great options at Target!  (And I like a few of them enough that I feel like I can use them in another room when the season is over!)

Beaded Silver and gold Christmas Pillows

We needed some wall art… so I made this, I think i love it for year round!  The new string art, with a full tutorial is there, so that you can make one too!

I changed out some art that was on my walls with a kids art gallery!

It seems like this year we had a bit of a theme in the decor besides color… Reindeer!!!  I made this fabulous Santa and reindeer garland, it was so easy and SO inexpensive!

I talked a little bit about how I wanted the girls to be involved in the decorating, and I really think overall we were successful.  Also, while I feel like most of the decor is not juvenile, we definitely threw some in good kid details in the mix.  Including some pipe cleaner wreath ornaments, a snowman wreath with full tutorial, and a new advent calendar that they can redecorate to their heart’s content (without messing up our main tree!  Win/win!!!)

  1. It’s all so pretty! Love the string art, so neat! I’m with you on the unfinished project thing…I don’t have a single room that’s “done”!

  2. Beautiful!! I love the silver and gold!! I love the kids art gallery!! The stockings are so elegant and pretty. Love it all!!

  3. Please, please, PLEASE do a tutorial for the ribbon on your gold and silver tree. I have a ton of smaller ornaments (all sentimental) and the ribbon on your tree adds beauty to the tree without taking up a bunch of space. 🙂
