  • 1 – 3/4″ x 24″ copper pipe
  • 2 – 3/4″ 90 degree copper elbows
  • 2- 3/4″ copper fasteners
  • 8 – 1″ screws (I used what I had on hand)

1 – Cut your plywood sheet in half.

2. Leaving about 1.5″ of wood on either side, cut out the middle of just one side out of  your tissue box.

3. Glue your two pieces of plywood together with wood glue and hold them together with a heavy object (that’s what you’re looking at above!) or clamps over night to dry. This is to add some thickness to the backing of your sconce.

4. Using your hack saw or pipe cutter, cut your pipe to your desired length. I cute mine to about 14″. Simply put the elbows together on top of the pipe.

5. Position your tissue box centered on the plywood and mark it on both sides.

6. Screw the tissue box to the plywood sheet from the back.

7. Follow THIS tutorial for how to dissemble and reassemble your corded light so it can go through your pipe.

8. Position your fasteners just above and just below the tissue box and screw down.

9. Drill two small holes, big enough for your nails to fit through in the top two corners of the plywood. Nail your sconce to the wall using the holes.

You’re done!
