To be completely honest with you, I’m not a big fan of spicy food. If it’s too hot I prefer to have another thing (I know, boring) however this just hits the spot, and it’s spicy in the best possible way. Yes, you get some of the heat, but you also get a ton of flavor.

For me, the star of this recipe is obviously the shrimp (hence the name of the recipe), it’s so good that sometimes I make it with different sides, however my all time favorite is this combo. So white rice, a bit of lemon lime slaw (just cabbage, a pinch of salt and a drizzle of lemon juice), the spicy shrimp and some cilantro make this perfectly balanced dish that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner when time is short and the to-do list is non-stop (seriously why are to-do lists are so long?).

However, this is also great for a weekend dinner as well! I mean this is nutritious, flavorful and way better than takeout, and since it’s a real crowd favorite you can also whip it up when you have friends over for dinner.

To top everything off I add a little drizzle of sriracha mayo – 1 part sriracha, 1 part lemon juice and 3 parts mayo if you want to go with the homemade version – and serve it in deep bowls filled to the brims with deliciousness.
