Quickly Change the Look of a Hutch!
I guess I have really been on a crafting roll. I am not going to lie, it has been a nice break from big projects and I feel so festive!
So what little project have I been working on? Right before the end of the Christmas season, I found some fabulous wrapping paper at Target.
I thought it was a cool design, and not too holiday specific so I grabbed two rolls. But the other reason I liked it was because I thought it would be a simple non-permanent background change for the hutch we re-vamped a while ago (and give a happy pop of romantic red for Valentines!)
While I still love the silver stenciled back and the color… I just gotta have some fun red for the holiday!
All I had to do was measure the back, and remove the dishes a shelf at a time. Then how is this for being a fast project?… I just rolled a few pieces of tape to fix it on there, and stuck the precut wrapping paper in place and put the dishes back…Fast as that (and it was good to clean out the dishes, since I had been throwing things in there randomly over the last few months, so it was a little crazy! Whoops!)
It only took about 20 minutes and in that time the girls just played… and fed each other applesauce! I love how wide Etta’s mouth is in the picture!
What do you think? A fun little update… ( and easily changed when I am tired of it!)-
We have a button for the party below. All you have to do is copy the code and place it in your post in the “Edit html” tab while you are writing the post or editing it. Please add it to your blog or the post somewhere so other people can find out about the party and join in. I would be very thankful!
Thanks for hosting!

O hmy, me and my button issues. I need to start from scratch but I can’t remember how to do it… I will have to see if I can find the instructions again!
that looks so good, and i love that it’s just wrapping paper. did you tape it? how did you get the ends to not be curling? this reminds me that i bought the same wrapping paper, but in silver…hmmm!!!
OH la la, i didn’t see the silver or I TOTALLY would have jumped on that. And yeah just rolled tape… that simple, it was cut to size so I didn’t have any rolling issues…. (but they would be easily fixed with just a rolled piece of painters tape)
I loved this idea and I’m looking at a book shelf that could use the same treatment.
Absolutely! And really easily too!
That looks great! What a quick little update for a big impact!
I love the new paper in the back! A very pretty change!
Thank you for hosting! New to your site…love it! Looking forward to following you!

Love the red look.
Love the paper, would’ve never guessed it was wrapping paper. I love your stencil, but I can understand wanting to change things up now & then. And quick & easy is my favorite kind of project. 🙂 Thanks for hosting the party- I’m linking up my own quick & easy storage project, #73.
Your newest follower here! As a rookie fellow remodelaholic and craft lover, I find your blog one of the most helpful blogs that I’ve come across. I love everything in it and can’t wait to participate in more of your Friday link parties… couldn’t get your button html to post correctly though so I just had to include a link in my post. Help to fix it welcome. First time linking.
