Fabulous Flooring: Stencils, A Waterproof Wood-Look, and Plywood Pros and Cons
Good evening Remodelaholics! What is everyone currently working on? We would love to see what you are creating! Your small projects to your big projects! You can message them to us on Facebook, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or you can always send us a photo here. You put a lot of work into your project, don’t be too bashful to show off the finished product!
The beautiful flooring in the photo above that was shared on the Remodelaholic Instagram page made me want to look at more fabulous flooring ideas. How many of you would dare to stencil your floor? I am not sure I am brave enough but after seeing this High Style, Low Cot Painted and Stenciled Floor by Tasha at Designer Trapped in a Lawyer’s Body I sure want to! Find out what her tips are and how well the floor is holding up in the post!
My grandpa put Waterproof Wood-Look Flooring in the bathrooms of his new home about 10 years ago now, and they still look absolutely perfect! Every time my husband and I discuss getting new flooring for the bathroom, it’s my go-to. Then I wouldn’t worry so much about the kids splashing water onto the floor. Cassity’s sister recently re-did her floors with the waterproof wood-look flooring and it turned out gorgeous! I love the before and after’s and to see how much style and character the wood adds! Check out all the details of this flooring and project by clicking on the photo!
Are you considering a plywood floor? We asked some of our favorite DIY bloggers to tell us more about their plywood floors and to give us their best DIY Plywood Flooring Pros and Cons + Tips. We had them answer four questions:
1) Why did you choose plywood plank flooring over other more traditional flooring types?
2) How has your plywood flooring held up to regular use and cleaning?
3) Would you install plywood plank floors again, or recommend them to a friend? Why or why not?
4) What is one thing that surprised you about the plywood plank floors, or that you wished you had known before you started?
Check out their answers to learn more about this fabulous flooring option!
Are you intimidated about tiling? My sister was! She and her husband had zero experience in DIY projects and remodeling when they decided to finish their basement themselves. Her husband is a computer programmer, and he decided it would be nice to work with his hands for a change. She was most worried about tiling. But with tutorials, it was as smooth as butter. If tiling is something you’ve been wanting to do, don’t be intimidated! Check out this tutorial on How to Tile A Bathroom Floor from Corey at TinySidekick and make that flooring a reality!
Featured Facebook Fans: A New Bed!
One of my favorite things to see on Facebook is photos of your projects! We have Fan Photo albums that we love to fill with your projects big and small! Please share them with us!
Recently we were sent the photo of this beautiful little house bed from Laura. She said,
“The time had come to move my two-year old out of her crib and into a big girl bed. Of course, I didn’t want just any old bed. I wanted her to have one of those trendy house beds you see all over Pinterest and Instagram. I decided to do it myself! Having little woodworking experience, I knew it would be a challenge. But I figured the materials cost me less than $100 and if it totally fails, we would just buy a regular twin bed, burn the lumber, and move on.”
As you can see, it was a success! You can see Laura’s experience here.
And find the plans for the house bed here!
It turned out beautiful and oh so fun! I know my two year old would love it! Thank you so much for sending it to us and for sharing it!
