These are all great window covering ideas. The Roman Shade is my favorite among the many types of window coverings. I also go for a combination of blinds and curtains but i have never done DIY projects on window coverings. I must admit i’m not really that type who knows how to sew and do stuff on my own so i guess i would just have to buy these things in department stores.
Bertha, we are glad you like the post.
Wonderful post, conserve the hard work, you’re doing it right!
Thanks George!
Many good ideas. I especially liked the inclusion on the update of vertical blinds.
I love these ideas for window coverings, so creative and fun to do as well. Using pipes and old pieces of wood and cabinetry for valances and rods is so neat. The DIY Blackout liner for the bamboo shades is a great money-saver as well. I would only worry about how to wash curtains I had painted or stenciled on.. even if it was safe-ish to do so when using the right materials! Also love the no-sew roman shades idea, thanks so much for sharing, im bookmarking this one!
Thanks for the comment Victoria!
I would love to show you a picture of how I used three sets of shutters with decorative L brackets as a sort of valance of my 3 kitchen windows, but I can’t figure out how to post a picture here. I use shutters and doors and windows for lots of things!
Judy, you can always send us an email of the picture or a link if it is on a blog. Sounds cool!
I keep looking for the instructions but I don’t find them! Where are they?
Hi Lynn, the link to each tutorial is in the caption underneath each image in the slideshow. Thanks!
Hi Cassity, Excellent DIY article. We would like to link to it in an upcoming blog post if you don’t mind. Thanks again.
