Remodelaholic in Review, October 2013
Can you believe another month is already gone? It’s completely cliche, but time just flew this month! Here’s what Remodelaholic was up to in October.
First up, have I mentioned that I love Instagram? If you’re not an Instagram lover, or if you’re not following us (@remodelaholic), you’re missing out on awesome photos like…
our fun family outings, my girl’s fashion sense, our awesome Halloween costumes, and, oh yeah, an almost-daily dose of design inspiration. Come join the fun! You can also find us on Facebook,
In addition to all of that fun, I was also over at Wayfair this month to share 3 easy Halloween party ideas for kids, and my new site, Tipsaholic, is growing! Come check out great articles like 5 great books for potty training, 5 steps to a perfect pie crust, and how to plan a family menu on a budget in one hour per week.
And now… the round-up of everything we did here on Remodelaholic. I love seeing it all in once place! Click on the photos or the links to see the original posts.
Fall Bucket List Printable
We love fall and we love doing things together. We also love our new chalkboard. Check out our fall bucket list and get the ENORMOUS printable (free!) — or you can also get a smaller sized printable if you prefer.
Sleep Wellness Seminar
I teamed up with the awesome folks over at IntelliBed to put together an informational Sleep Wellness Seminar, to help you when you shop for your next mattress. We can all use a good night’s sleep!
Happy Home Resolutions Office Organization
As part of the HomeGoods Happy Home Resolutions challenge, I shared my newly organized office, gave you a tutorial for making and installing the rustic wall shelves (so easy!), and then, thanks to all of my awesome readers who helped by repinning, I won the contest and got to give away five $50 gift cards. Congrats to those who won, and thanks for ALL your help!
Operation: Cover Up Barbie
My girls are too small to be able to dress their Barbies very well by themselves, but I am sick of the always-naked Barbies showing up all over our house and trying to go to the grocery store with us. So I painted on swimsuits — no more naked Barbies! Get the details here.
Knocktoberfest Pottery Barn Kitchen Island/Table
As part of the awesome Knocktoberfest event over at Makely, Justin and I (okay… mostly Justin) built us a new kitchen table meets kitchen island. Check it out here, and the tutorial will be ready for you hopefully soon!
New Living Room Chair
I switched things up a bit…again…in my living room. I LOVE my new living room chair from Wayfair. The only problem is now I think I need a new couch too… That’s just the design domino effect, right? 🙂
Get This Look and Style Tips
We love growing our Get This Look library! This month we added 6 new rooms:
Sunny Shared Bedroom | Back Entry Washroom and Drop Zone | Chic Open Shelf Library
Fresh Laundry Nook | Classic Kitchen Curio | Easy Organized Home Office
We also shared some design tips and small-space living ideas for renters.
Top 10 and Link Parties
We truly love seeing all of your projects at our Remodelaholics Anonymous link parties every weekend, and we try to share LOTS of them on our social media because we love so many of them! And, we find many of our awesome guests through the party, too! Thanks for supporting us and the party. Along with the parties, we shared some of our favorite ideas and recipes:
Shoe Storage and Organization | New Twist on Classic Comfort Foods
Indoor Play Areas for Kids | Cool Teen Hangouts
Our Awesome Guests!
We love our guests, and we know that you do, too!
(If you have a project you want to share with the Remodelaholic world, submit a project for a guest feature here.)
Amy from The Blissful Bee shared 3 quick and easy gold home decor accent projects.
Alicia from Thrifty and Chic taught us how to build this super easy sofa table.
Julie from Less-Than-Perfect Life of Bliss showed us how she turned an old trunk into an awesome corner bookcase.
Dana from Stable Living showed off her gorgeous white and modern country kitchen. (I am still drooling over this one!)
Courtney from Golden Boys and Me shared her elegant master bathroom remodel.
Karin from Art is Beauty taught us how to build a farmhouse table for under $100.
And Charlotte from Ciburbanity showed us how to sew a Land of Nod copycat floor pouf (and it’s easier than you think!)
Another great month! Thanks for following along with us!
Lorene has been behind the scenes here at Remodelaholic for more than a decade! She believes that planning projects and actually completing them are two different hobbies, but that doesn't stop her from planning at least a dozen projects at any given time. She spends her free time creating memories with her husband and 5 kids, traveling as far as she can afford, and partaking of books in any form available.
No! I can’t believe that October has come and gone already. Thanksgiving and Christmas is just a whisper away. I’m not ready. 🙂
Saw some great stuff here this month. Thanks Cassie for all the inspiration.

OH MY GOSH! I forgot to say, That picture of the hubby and girls is wonderful. The mountains in the background are amazing. A view I could get use to. And lets not forgot hubby’s uni-brow.
