Just thinking of summer conjures up images of kids running wild around the neighborhood while the adults linger on porches, chit-chatting and playing card games. Okay, that may be a bit old-fashioned — the adults are probably playing some game on their phones, now! But summer should still be about making those friendships with our neighbors, and what better place to create lifelong memories than a welcoming porch?
The quickest way to add character and welcome to your porch, in my opinion, is by painting your door and adding a fun welcome wreath. Add some seating and… then what? Whether your porch is large or small, I have rounded up a dozen ideas to help you make your summer porch guests a bit more welcome. (featured image via Better Homes and Gardens)
Please come share your projects and browse the other links at the weekend Remodelaholics Anonymous party at the end of the post!

Hi – I love your blog and following you on Pinterest!
One question, not related to this specific post – I’ve been searching and searching and can’t find where do you buy those cute wooden wall shelves often featured often in kitchen redos? (See here: https://www.remodelaholic.com/2012/05/painting-oak-cabinets-white-and-gray/)
I would love to get some and would appreciate your help!
Thanks,
Pam, we are thrilled that you love and follow our site. This was a guest feature and I couldn’t see anything about the shelves. Most of the time people are making them their selves. You might be able to find something through google shopper? They might me hard to find though. IF you follow the link at the top of the post to the guest we featured, you night be able to ask her on her blog. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
